Eszter, hopefully we see you at the house in less than 6 days!!
Fitting that the CTR starts today, the same day Colorado became a state.......Aug. 1st 1876! Best state in the Union!!
Perhaps we will "put the team together" for a CTR 2012 attempt..............................................................
In the meantime we got all jiggy on the Ridge on Sun., a bit worked from the Hermosa Classic on Sat., but when you got 140mm, "you're always a hero"!!
Better check yourself
Righty O daddy O
Shout out to Dave Hagen/Fort Lewis Cycling/SRAM and all the volunteers that made Hermosa Classic a kick ass event, as always, this year. The prizes and awards that SRAM and Continental Tires gave out were unbelievable; that race is worth doing just for a chance at winning, oh I don't know, say a $1,000 carbon XX fork, damn! I haven't seen any results posted, I will put them up when I can. "CONGRATULATIONS Nick Gould", WINNER of the ss race-this guy can't be stopped. "Gotta strike when the Iron is hot"!!
I rode the Superfly Elite and that was the right call; the 29er's rolled the techie parts of Hermosa and the stiff/light chassis felt "reel reel nice" on the Hotel Draw climb-last year I bonked at the end and barely made it out, this year I remembered to eat, slammed a coke and felt good all the way to the end!
Lot's of muscle in Colorado:
National XC CHAMP Todd Wells rode his bike from town (Durango) to the start of the race, beat everybody by who knows how many 10's of minutes, then changes kits, collects his cash and rides back to town, I think that's like 80+ miles!
And look who showed up in CB yesterday
Looks like Sheef's and some of the other boys gave him a little run for his money, good one boys:
Some new trails coming to Twin Buttes, man that Trails 2000 is quite an asset to this town: http://www.durangoherald.com/article/20110801/NEWS01/708019922/Trail-to-make-connection
This is truly the best time of year to be eating!
