This summer I have been lucky enough to ride, thrash, rip, tweak, untweak (I am not a tweak-er), adjust, re-adjust and abuse a 2012 Trek Rumblefish.
Several things to note:
-3X10 gearing-yup, 30 gears and I tell you what, riding the high country all day, it feels reeeeel nice!
-15mm thru axle up front-put the wheel anywhere you want, literally!
-ABP (active braking platform) with a 142mm/12mm thru axle or convertible to 135mm/5mm-means your rear sus is working as your braking!
-E2 headset system-1 1/8" at the top, flares to a 1 1/4' on the bottom-unparalleled rigidity up front.
-**Fox FLOAT RP 2-The Dual Rate Control Valve (DRCV) deploys a dual air chamber system, in which a secondary air chamber opens at a specific point during shock travel. The DRCV system combines the efficiency of a smaller air volume ride with the plush response of a large air volume shock deeper into its travel stroke. ENGLISH VERSION: over small undulating terrain the rear feels like you have a smaller amount of travel, sucking up the small bumps while not compromising pedaling efficiency, big drops coming up, feels like you have that 6" bike you've always wanted!!
I have beat this bike down for the last several months and nothing, I mean nothing has gone wrong with it! Highly recommended as a ripping, do it all trail bike!!
Also riding a Trek EX 9.8
(yes, I like a lot of post)
26" carbon 120mm! If you are a racer and want only 1 bike, this is it!Saved some serious lbs. by going with Stans No Tubes ZTR Crest Wheels
Yup, White is fast and customizing wheels thru Stan's is easy, quick and inexpensive! Thanks to D-Plus member Grady and Brent at Continental Bicycle Tires I am running some fresh X-King 2.2's, which are sick. I have been racing the Continental Race King 2.2 (which Overend said was "too fat", whatever Ned, unless he meant PHAT, wich they are)!
Raining here in D-town, heavy! As Dogger would say "you can just feel the nitrogen in the air"! Yessir!
