Crested Butte 40 & Firecracker 50

Cool video a friend of mine, Chris Miller did for Mountain Flyer Magazine on the Crested Butte race 2 weeks ago:

I am partial to 1:51 in the video, go figure!!  This was towards the end and all I could think about was the last climb back up mt. Crested Butte and how badly I was going to suffer; the mountain is in the background!!  Would highly recommend this race as 90% is on ripping single track, it kind of makes you forget about the 8k+ feet of climbing, kinda!!

Firecracker 50 in Breck:

I had a great first lap, then it all fell apart for me on the 2nd lap!  Gus dawg and I panting after the race:
The course seemed longer this year as we climbed past 3 foot snow drifts and thru  muddy sections due to all the snow the front range had this winter.  It took me nearly 5 hours to complete the 50 mile course, not my PR but hey, I had a blast, always do!!!

A big congratulations to team member Josh Marceau for taking 2nd place in the CAT 2 men's Field; super solid, do I smell a CAT 1 upgrade sometime soon???

  1. Miles, good to see you at both races. Thought the CB race was waaay harder, then again I ran out of water.
